However, I find this switch to be most beneficial in feeling good, wholesome, and safe. This brings me to the topic of deodorants/anti-perspirant's. I remember back in high school, I did not mind wearing deodorant for my sports team activities, but when it came to prom, I reached for the anti-perspirant. I suppose this is my true girly girl side speaking. I had always known anti-perspirant is not a good choice, and found that the available deodorants for women 15 years ago were very slim. There were always the rock/salt deodorants available at the natural food stores, but these dried out my armpits and agitated my sensitive skin. I would use men's deodorant, in the most fruity sense I could find. But let's talk about those fruity artificial fragrances and some misleading information on natural deodorants. With many deodorant, as with natural sunscreen and sunblock, chemicals are added for dermal absorption. This means, the chemical allows the other active ingredients to be absorbed more easily into the skin. Furthermore, dermal absorption leads to absorption into The bloodstream. I will let you do the research on your own to learn more about chemicals for dermal absorption and the dangers around them. But let's look at some simple facts. Your armpits are where a huge section of lymph node's are collected in your body. One of the larger lymph ducks of your body is located on your chest across from your armpits. The Lymph system is a very important system for your body . It's is responsible for the illumination of interstitial fluid from tissues, absorbs and transports fatty acid from the digestive system, with its primary function being the transportation of lymph, which is infection – fighting white blood cells, through the body. Basically, it is one of your bodies main systems for protection against and elimination of toxins. Let's now realize what we are doing by applying a artificial, chemical full, product to our armpits every day. We are taxiing out our lymph system with unnecessary toxins and chemicals. This led my family to making the switch for a natural deodorant. finding or making a natural deodorant recipe is not easy…when conducting a natural deodorant search, you will find many similar deodorant recipes. Here is the tricky part, all of these recipes can be successful, natural, safe, and beneficial. However, it truly depends on your skin type. Many healthy and natural deodorants, or recipes, did not work for my sensitive skin. They would cause chafing and redness which would eventually give a burning sensation to anything somewhat skin irritating that I would apply. I would like to share my recipes and tips on making your own natural deodorant, but please know this recipe may also need tweaking for your skin type. gathering your materials, keeping it natural, affordable, and saferecycling and reusing is a very popular theme in my home. Instead of purchasing empty deodorant roller bars, here is how you can clean out an old deodorant container, and sterilize it from any possible chemicals that it contained. you will need kitchen pot Deodorant container small paring knife water – Distilled or tap is fine. metal tongs clean drying cloth paper towel begin by rolling the deodorant stick all the way up, and cutting off any extra deodorant. to remove deodorant from the grid, stick the tip of your pairing knife into the center of the square spaces, and you should be able to pull them out. Small bits of leftover deodorant are fine, as it will come off when being boiled. remove the plastic grid section from the base by twisting it off. place all of the pieces into your pot, cover with water, and Bring water to a boil. Here is a tricky part, you do not want to boil the plastic for too long, as it could melt. What do you need to do instead, is bring the water to a boil, let it cool, bring to a boil again, and let it cool. Do this for a duration of five minutes, and your deodorant container is cleaned and sterilized. remove your container pieces using metal tongs. lay the pieces on a clean cloth to completely dry. This point you can peel off any labeling from the outside and discard. use your paper towel to remove any leftover adhesive from the outside of the container. no water can be left in the container, as it can contaminate your deodorant. Make sure the container is completely dry before proceeding. to reattach the grid, have the deodorant bottle twisted all the way up, hold the grid in place, and turn the deodorant bottle knob until you can feel it engage and begin to retract down. twist the deodorant container until the grid is all the way at the bottom and now you are ready to make your own deodorant and use your recycled container! DIY natural deodorant recipelets break those steps up a bit......😊 melt the beeswax, Shea, and coconut oil in that order. Once once ingredient is nearly melted, add the next. while those are melting, combine dry ingredients in a small dish and mix well. Remove from heat. This is important, because if the mixture steams at all, it is ruined and you will need to start over. After those are melted, begin adding the dry ingredients in small portions. stir well. I first fold it in with a spatula and than attack it with a metal whisk. the mixture should be getting stiff, now you are ready to add your essential oils. Suggested oils: cypress, lavender, ylang ylang, frankincense just to mention a few possibilities. transfer to container and your done!
suggestions for use: this is a softer deodorant, but it is dense. Remove the cap pushing on the end sides, not the middle of the wide sides. Be gentle when twisting the deodorant upwards. In applying, I put on a layer and than spread it with my fingers, you can also store this in a tin and use your fingers for application. If if you have a deodorant recipe, or you make this one, I would love to see!
